HC maintains status quo in forged sports certificate case

Aurangabad division bench of Bombay High Court comprising justice S V Gangapurwala and Justice S D Kulkarni on Wednesday ordered to maintain status quo following a petition submitted regarding losing a government job for submitting a forged sports certificate. The next hearing will be held after four weeks.

Kishor Khedkar, working as agriculture assistant at Shiur Kasar in Beed district submitted the petition through Adv Siddheshwar Thombre in the Aurangabad division bench as he had to lose job for submittting a forged sports certificate of ‘Trampoline’ game for gaining this job. Khedkar had submitted a certificate mentioning that he has secured second positive in the state-level Maharashtra Trampoline championship held in 2004. On the basis of which was appointed as the agriculture assistant. As mentioned in the petition, deputy director sports and youth services department, Aurangabad has checked the certificate. Later, the Maharashtra Amateur Trampoline Association''s honorary secretary, Rajendra Pathania on July 4, 2020 lodged a complaint to the divisional deputy director that only three candidates were excellent from 1997 to 2005 while the remaining 258 candidates had not participated in the championship. The association has not given them certificates. Accordingly, the deputy director issued the orders of inquiry in the matter and show cause notice was served to Khedkar on September 10, 2020. Khedkar during the hearing on September 25, submitted his reply in this regard. He mentioned that he had participated in the competition in 2004. At the end of the hearing, the deputy director had ordered to cancel the certificate of Khedkar.
