Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A head-on collision between a Travels bus and an Eicher truck on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalna Road early Sunday morning left several passengers injured, with one reported to be in critical condition. The accident occurred around 5:45 am near the Sundarwadi petrol pump.

According to the police, the Travels bus (MP-45-ZE-9979) driver lost control of the vehicle, broke through the road divider, and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Of the 23 to 25 passengers on board, at least four were injured, one of them seriously. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. After the accident, the bus driver fled the scene, and the police have launched a search to trace him. Both the Travels bus and the Eicher truck were heavily damaged in the collision. Traffic on the busy stretch was temporarily disrupted but has since begun returning to normal. A case has been registered at the Chikalthana police station, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
