Hearing on PIL regarding roads of Rs 152 cr on June 28

Aurangabad, June 14:

The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court comprising Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Ravindra Ghuge today has held a hearing upon public interest litigation (PIL) filed in connection with the construction of internal roads of the city by spending Rs 152 crore. The next hearing on the PIL filed by Adv Rupesh Jaiswal will be held on June 28.

The discussion on the pathetic condition of internal roads in the city or proposed construction of an underpass at the railway track in Shivajinagar, railway overbridge (RoB) at Golwadi, etc had been held during the last hearings. It may be noted that the Department of Railways (DoR), in its letter dated February 15, 2021, has stated that the proposals regarding the construction of an underpass and RoB have been sent to the Railway Board. These works will be undertaken jointly by the state government and the DoR. The RoB at Golwadi will be completed in one and a half years.

In today's hearing, Adv Manish Navander has sought time from the court stating that the tenders will be invited as soon as the works are approved and the funds are released by the board for the purpose. Hence, the DoR has sought time to submit details in this regard. Hence the bench accepted the request and the next hearing has been scheduled to be held on June 28.
