The Shiv Jayanti Festival Committee of Navin Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Ganesh Mahasangh celebrated the 396th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Thursday with a helicopter flower shower over his statues across the city.

MP Sandipan Bhumre, committee founder Baburao Didore, and Jyotiram Patil flagged off the helicopter at around 10.30 am. Flowers were showered at Jaybhavaninagar Chowk, Pundaliknagar Chowk, Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Chowk, Cidco Avishkar Colony, and Kranti Chowk. At Kranti Chowk, the flower shower took place between 11.30 am and 11.48 am. Large numbers of devotees gathered to witness the rare moment, capturing it on mobile phones and chanting “Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji,” creating an emotional and celebratory atmosphere across the city.
