Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Garware Hi-Tech Films has approved a Rs 191 crore capacity expansion at its Waluj manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The board has greenlit a new Sun Control Film (SCF) lamination line that will add 1,200 LSF per annum to the existing capacity of 4,200 LSF per annum. The project will be completed within 14 months and funded entirely through internal accruals. The expansion aims to strengthen the company's position in the specialty films market, improving supply capability for future business requirements. The Waluj facility, a key manufacturing hub in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's industrial heartland, continues to anchor the company's premium product operations. The investment signals strong management confidence in the medium-term demand outlook for Sun Control Films and the company's commitment to scaling operations in Maharashtra.

Why the Expansion?

The existing SCF line is operating at optimum utilization, making the additional capacity critical to meeting rising demand in the high-growth specialty films segment.
