Jawaharnagar police provided shelter to a homeless, mentally ill woman at Manasuki Vruddha Sevashram. On 23 January at 9:30 a.m., police received a report of a woman disturbing citizens in Shivajinagar. Under Senior Police Inspector Sachin Kumbhar, she was taken into custody, treated at a government hospital, and admitted for long-term care at the Sevashram. Police continue efforts to trace her relatives.

“Having a mental illness is not a crime. Bringing such women into society and preventing exploitation is our duty,” said Kumbhar. Deputy Commissioner of (zone 2) Prashant Swami, API Machhindr Kalyankar, PSI Maruti Khillare, and Manasuki team supported the initiative.
