A housewife saved the life of her husband by donating her one kidney.

According to details, Pravin Sheshrao Chavan (28, Pimpaldari in Sillod) was facing difficulty in urinating last year. During the medical examination, it was found that his kidneys were failed. Family members were in grief on learning this. Doctors advised the family for kidney transplant of Pravin.

A search for a kidney donor was launched. As his wife Vaishali''s blood group matched with her husband, she decided to donate her one kidney to him.

In the meantime, Novel coronavirus spread and the surgery was postponed.

After permission, kidney transplant surgery was performed on the patient in a private hospital of the city on December 23.

Doctors from the hospital said that the health condition of both husband and wife was stable.

Commenting on the donation, Pravin said he is grateful to his wife forever as he got a new life because of her. Vaishali Chavan said that her life was incomplete without her husband.

"So, I decided, without any hesitation, to donate my kidney. I pray to God to keep us together,” she added.
