The HP Gas distribution office located at High Court Colony in the Satara area remained closed on Thursday (March 26) from 12 noon to 3 pm after putting up a “No Stock” notice due to the unavailability of gas cylinders.

Despite the office being shut, many residents brought their empty cylinders and placed them in a queue outside the premises. Locals said citizens kept their cylinders lined up in anticipation that once the gas supply vehicle arrived, they would be able to receive refills. As soon as fresh stock arrived, a large crowd gathered outside the office. Employees stated that due to high demand and inadequate supply, crowds have been swelling outside the office almost every day.

“After three days, a gas cylinder truck arrived from the company. As soon as the vehicle reached, we reopened the office and resumed cylinder distribution. The office will remain open until 8 to 9 pm to complete the distribution,” said Deepak Suryavanshi, owner of the HP Gas distribution office.
