Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The HSC February-March 2026 examination being conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) commenced on Tuesday with a smooth note.
Various teams from the divisional office of MSBSHSE, Education Department and Revenue Department visited the different centres in the divisions to put a check on malpractice during the examination.
More than 1.90 lakh candidates are taking the examination at 449 centres in the division. This time around, all departments have taken extra efforts to create awareness against copying in the examination. The HSC examinations, which commenced today, will continue until March 18.

Strict frisking in district
A total of 65,516 candidates have appeared for the examination at 160 centres this year. A total of ten squads were deployed for the examination. Each team comprise five to seven members from the education department and revenue department. The students were frisked at the entrance of the centres. Students were welcomed with a rose at S B Junior College.
District Collector Deelip Swami and other senior officers visited some centres, including the Government College of Arts and Science in the city and other places and inspected the arrangements. The district administration and the school education department were alerted because the English subject paper was on the first day today. Secondary Education Officer Ashwini Lathkar and Primary Education Officer Jayshree Chavan visited the examination centres in rural areas and inspected them.

3 students caught on 1st day
A total of three students involved in the malpractice were caught on Tuesday, the first day of the examination. Of them, two are in Jalna and one is in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Those caught in the copy will face strict action.
