Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Hundreds of aspirants of Ph D research have been waiting for the release of the selection list within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

It may be noted the university administration started the Ph D admission process after a gap of two years. It conducted Ph D Entrance Test (PET)-2024 on October 3 while its result was declared on October 15.

A total of 9,166 candidates took the test while more than 2,000 passed the PET. Nearly 3,825 candidates registered for the second round of admissions. They included 1,824 youths who were given exemption from PET, for clearing the national level examinations.

The eligible candidates gave a presentation on their Ph D proposal the Research and Recognition Committee (RRC) of each subject between February 4 to March 4.

There are 1500 Ph D seats vacant within the jurisdiction of the university. However, the final figure of the vacant seats will be released for the next round of admissions. There is a 30 per cent weightage for RRC presentation while 70 pc for test scores. Bamu was supposed to declare the selection list by April 16. However, it was not declared yet. The aspirants have been for the release of the list. According to sources, the selection list of aspiring researchers is likely to be declared in the first week of May.

When the list is declared, the candidates will have to submit all the documents including consent letter of research guide, joining report, result of test and mark memos, with the Ph D section.
