A woman was subjected to persistent mental and physical harassment by her husband and sister-in-law, who allegedly pressured her to bring Rs 5 lakh from her maternal home for a tractor purchase in Waluj industrial area.

Sonia Dhiwar married Gautam Dhiwar on May 16, 2013, following Buddhist traditions. The couple has three daughters and owns six acres of farmland. According to the complaint, Gautam insisted that Sonia arrange Rs 5 lakh for a tractor down payment. When she refused, he allegedly intensified the harassment. His sister, Mangal Subhash Chavan, also joined in, further pressuring Sonia. Unable to endure the ongoing abuse, Sonia approached the MIDC Waluj police station, where a case was registered against Gautam Kaduba Dhiwar and Mangal Subhash Chavan. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
