Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Traffic was disrupted for some time on Thursday afternoon after a goods-laden hyva truck got stuck in the Shivajinagar underpass in the area. The incident occurred around 12 noon when the truck, travelling from Shivajinagar towards Deolai Chowk, became lodged in an iron height-restriction frame installed at the entrance of the underpass.

As a result, several vehicles were stranded behind the truck, leading to a temporary traffic jam. After considerable efforts, the truck was eventually removed, following which traffic movement in the underpass resumed. An iron height-restriction frame had been installed on the Shivajinagar side of the underpass a few days ago. However, it was reportedly damaged soon after installation, resulting in frequent incidents of over-height vehicles getting stuck at the spot. The absence of regular deployment of traffic police personnel in the area has further aggravated the issue, with locals demanding better planning and monitoring to prevent such disruptions.
