Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Jamia Islamia Ishaatul Uloom’s Indian Institute of Medical Science and Research (IIMSR, Warudi, Jalna) recently held 5th graduation ceremony, where undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD and MS) students from the 2019–20 batch were awarded their degrees.

The event was attended by several eminent personalities, academicians, and dignitaries. Political and economic chief (U S Consulate in Kolkata) Braphus E Kaalund was the chief guest, while the guests of honour included MLAs Arjun Khotkar, Narayan Kuche and Abdul Sattar, MLC Sanjay Kenekar, former minister Rajesh Tope, former MP Imtiaz Jaleel, Dr Ilhas Patil, superintendent of police (SP) Ajay Kumar Bansal; MGM CEO Dr Pravin Suryawanshi and medical professionals such as Dr Saeeda Afroz, Dr Jayshree Bhasare, Dr A B Solpure, Dr R M Fadri, Dr Vilas Wangikar and Adil Batliwala. The dignitaries were formally welcomed by JIIU president Hafiz Adv Maulana Huzefa Vastaanvi and IIMSR Dean Dr Azhar Ahmed Siddiqui.

The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Hanzala Huzefa Vastaanvi, a second-year MBBS student, followed by the MUHS anthem.

A two-minute silence was observed in memory of the institution’s founder, Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Vastaanvi. The event was compered by Urdu journalist Imtiaz Khalil along with Dr Syed Muaz, Dr Syed Badr Daimi and Dr Suhail Makhdumi. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Ilyas Bemat, as stated in a press release issued by IIMSR’s media advisor, Badar Siddiqui.
