The illegal sale of liquor continues unchecked in Ranjangaon, Kamalapur, Jogeshwari, and key areas of the Waluj industrial zone, including Maharana Pratap Chowk and Kamgar Chowk. Liquor is being sold openly on main roads, even late at night, leading to public disturbances and safety concerns.

Despite previous crackdowns, these illegal vendors resume operations, violating government regulations and ignoring time restrictions and dry-day rules. Licensed bars and wine shops adhere to official guidelines, but unauthorized liquor outlets flourish, contributing to rising crime rates and domestic disputes. Congress taluka working president Bhimrao More has demanded strict action against illegal liquor vendors. He has also warned of a protest in front of the state excise office if authorities fail to take immediate measures to curb the illicit trade.
