Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Leader of opposition MLC Ambadas Danve has submitted a memorandum to the state chief secretary, alleging that contractors are illegally extracting pure sand under the guise of silt-mixed sand from the Hiradpuri sand ghat in Paithan taluka.

He claims that while permission was granted to extract silt-mixed sand from specific survey numbers (245, 246, 261 to 269), contractors are instead extracting pure sand from adjacent areas (survey numbers 230/14 to 230/18). Danve also accused local officials of misleading the government by providing incorrect information and demanded that criminal cases be filed against the contractors and action taken against the officials within seven days, failing which he threatened to file a breach of privilege motion.
