Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Department of History and Ancient Indian Culture of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University will organise a two-day Indian Iconography workshop on February 25 and 26.

Dr Maya Patil, former Head of the Department at Ahilyabai Holkar Solapur University, will deliver the keynote address on the rise and development of Hindu Iconography.

Dr Shrikant Ganvir from Deccan College (Pune) will present his views on the importance of idols and the antiquity of idols. Oshin Bamb will elaborate on the importance of postures, seats and vehicles in iconography in the first session.

Coordinator Dr Pushpa Gaikwad and head of the history department Dr Geetanjali Borade have appealed to all the students to attend this workshop in large numbers.
