Aurangabad, May 9:

“Citizens of each country feel pride for their dogs. Our citizens take care of foreign dogs well but treat indigenous (Indian) breed dogs differently. Our dogs are smarter than other countries. The police department should use dogs as ‘guard dog,’ said Maneka Gandhi, MP and former union Minister.

She was speaking in an online fashion show of native Indian breed dogs and cats on Sunday organised by Aurangabad Pet Lovers Association.

Special inspector general of police Dr Ravindra Singal and Miss India first runner-up Sharon Rodrigues were the guests. Association president Berryl Sanchis was also present. The fashion show received a good response from pet lovers.

Maneka Gandhi said that foreign dogs used in the police department are now always useful in the investigation. “A lot of money is used for the care of these dogs. The care of foreign dogs is a costly affair. Indian breed dogs should be loved and used for the investigation,” she added. Dr Singal also spoke.
