Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: By hacking the password of the Gram Panchayat's 'CRS' portal, someone had made bogus entries in the records of 3, 447 births in Pimpri Antur village in Soygaon tehsil of the district.

The Bureau of Health Information and Vital Statistics has instructed the District Health Officer and District Registrar, Dr Abhay Dhanorkar, to delete them from the portal without delay.

Meanwhile, as per the instructions of senior officers, Dr Dhanorkar instructed the Gram Panchayat Officer (Gramsevak) Tulshidas Gosavi of Mohlai Bloc Gram Panchayat to delete the records from the portal without delay, stating that they were cancelled.

The Bloc Development Officers (BDO) of Soygaon had become suspicious about this four months ago. Accordingly, he checked with Tulshidas Gosavi, the officer (Gramsevak) of Mohlai Bloc Gram Panchayat, whether 3,448 births and eight deaths were registered in the village of Mauje Pimpri Antur from April 1, 2025, to August 2, 2025, through the Gram Panchayat's 'CRS' portal? Then Tulshidas Gosavi said that the user ID of the said 'CRS' portal was not in use.

It was then that the suspicion of the 'BDO' was confirmed. He informed the Z.P. 'CEO' and the District Health Officer and the District Registrar of Birth and Death Records, Dr Abhay Dhanorkar, about the incident.

When the facts of this incident were found out from the Statistical Officer of the District Health Officer's Office, it was found that a person from Bihar had 'hacked' the password of that user ID and committed this act. This matter was immediately reported to the State Bureau of Health Information and Vital Statistics. A case was registered against an unknown person at Soygaon Police Station. Instructions were given to delete these entries from the portal two days ago.

Will there be any problem in probe?

Bogus entries were made by hacking the password. On the other hand, senior officers have instructed the Gram Panchayat officers to delete all bogus entries from the portal. Then if the entries are deleted, will there be no problem in the investigation? On this, Dr Dhanorkar said that even if we delete the entries from the portal, the cyber police can track who interfered with the portal and when.
