Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A delegation of Iran comprising Dr Mohammad Hossein Ziaei Niya (Hafiz, Deputy representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran in India), Mohammad Husain Suratwala (Mission Director, Al-Kisa Foundation, India), and Maulana Syed Jafar Raza Amili (Representative Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Al-Yaqubi Sahib, Gujarat) visited Maulana Azad College on Saturday.

They were accompanied by Raza Isfahani (entrepreneur, Bangalore), Noman Khan Saudagar, Shafaqat Jahan, Ehtesham Abidi, Sajid Naqwi, Afaq ur Rehman, Majaz Hussain and Qasim Jafry. Principal Dr Mazahar Farooqui welcomed the guests by presenting books authored by Dr Rafiq Zakaria. The delegates discussed Indo-Iran relations.

Dr Mohammad Hossein Ziaei Niya spoke on the development of Iran in the last 40 years under the leadership of Allama Qumaini. He confessed that 40 years ago, the literacy rate of Iran was very low, but now, they have highly qualified Iranian doctors and engineers.

Previously, we used to hire the services of doctors from other countries; now, people are coming to Iran for better treatment from Iranian doctors. Our experts are now leading in Nano inventions. We have never left the path shown by Allah in the Holy Quran. We are following the path which Allah's Prophet and Ahle bait (Masumeen) walked on and we are sure that we will be successful,” he said.

Iranian delegates assured that in future they are ready to work with Maulana Azad College in collaboration for organising International Seminars, exchange of teachers, exchange of students, exchange of knowledge, publishing books, and translating literature. Dr Aref Pathan, Dr Mohammed Hussain Deghan, Dr Kazi Naveed, Dr Sohail Zakiuddin and others were present.
