Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

An iron frame installed at the Shivajinagar underpass late at night was damaged in an accident within just a few hours, breaking into two parts. Despite the incident, the concerned authorities did not remove the damaged structure from the site, causing inconvenience and risk to commuters.

The frame was installed around 3:30 am on Wednesday to prevent tall vehicles from passing through the underpass. However, between 8:30 am and 9 am, an unidentified heavy vehicle collided with it, causing the frame to bend and snap in the middle. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Even by the afternoon, the broken frame had not been cleared, forcing motorists to navigate the route at risk. Heavy vehicles, especially goods carriers, are unable to pass through the underpass and are being diverted via the Sangramnagar flyover as an alternative route.

An official from the Public Works Department visited the site for inspection and stated that the matter would be reported to senior authorities.
