The murder of retired Government Engineering College HoD Prof. Rajaram Londhe has put the spotlight on the lifestyle of the main accused, Vishal Rathod, who was active in political and social circles.

Rathod’s social media profiles feature videos of expensive cars, high-end smartphones and a luxurious lifestyle. On March 22, 2025, he posted a video claiming he had purchased a Jaguar luxury car at the age of 23. His accounts also display photographs and videos with several prominent political leaders. Rathod was often invited by businessmen to inaugurate showrooms and by colleges as chief guest at cultural programmes. He had also appeared in several rap videos and music albums, which increased his online popularity. He had actively participated in protests in the city over ST reservation demands. However, his arrest in the sensational murder case has shocked many followers, as his glamorous social media image now contrasts sharply with the serious criminal allegations against him.
