Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A Jal Jeevan Mission water supply scheme worth Rs 37 crore is underway in Wadgaon Kolhati area of the Waluj-Bajajnagar region. Under this scheme, piped drinking water is planned to be supplied to every household in a timely manner. Divisional Commissioner G Sreekanth has directed that all related works under the scheme should be initiated and completed expeditiously without any hindrance.

A review meeting of the Wadgaon Kolhati (Bajajnagar area) Jal Jeevan Mission water supply project was held at the divisional commissioner’s office. The meeting was attended by Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) chief engineer Manisha Palande, superintending engineer Deepak Koli, and other concerned officials.

As the population in Wadgaon Kolhati is increasing, it is essential to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to residents through the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. The commissioner instructed that pipeline laying and construction of water storage tanks should be undertaken and completed on priority without any obstacles. He also emphasised the need to address the growing waste management issues in the rapidly urbanising area.

During the meeting, Chief Engineer Palande informed that a request has been made to Cidco for land to construct pipelines and a water storage tank. Efforts are underway to secure the required land, and the work will commence once the land is made available.
