Aurangabad, Feb 26:

The iron box containing gold, silver ornaments and cash was stolen from a house at Varmanagar in Harsul area. The box was found in a farm next day and nothing was missing from it. The owner of the box suspected that a youth from her area has stolen the box. The Harsul police are investigating in this direction. The name of the suspect is Praveen Gangaram Shinde.

Police said, the complainant woman and the suspect are relatives and lives at Varmanagar. On February 24, a box containing 2 tolas gold jewellery, Silver ornaments, cash and property documents was stolen between 10 pm and 1 am. The complainant woman claimed that she saw Praveen taking the box and lodged a complaint at the Harsul police station. PI Sachin Ingole and his team rushed to the spot and searched the nearby area. The box was found in a farm around 300 meters away from her house. The jewellery, cash and documents were not missing from the box. The police interrogated the suspect Praveen and he told that he had gone to a function at Padegaon on that day. The police are verifying his statement through his mobile call details.
