Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Gold jewellery weighing six and a half tolas of a woman was stolen while boarding a bus at the Central Bus Stand (CBS) in the evening of May 5. A case was registered at Kranti Chowk Police Station based on the complaint lodged by the woman.

As per the complaint made by Suvarna Nilesh Munje (Aloknagar), on the evening of May 5, she came to the CBS with her son, sister-in-law and her children to travel to Buldhana.

Before leaving home, she had placed a 4.5-tola gold mangalsutra and a 2-tola rani haar (necklace) in a small purse, which was then kept inside a larger purse, with the zip properly secured.

After waiting at the bus stand for two hours, bus number MH 14 LX 8328 bound for Buldhana arrived. There was a large crowd of passengers while boarding.

The complainant managed to get a seat at the rear of the bus at 6.20 pm. About 10 minutes after the bus departed, when she looked at her large ladies' purse, she noticed that the zip was open. Upon checking, the small purse was missing, making it clear that it had been stolen by thieves.

The bus was then stopped at Delhi Gate, where passengers were questioned, but nobody admitted to taking the purse, confirming that the jewellery-containing purse had indeed been stolen.

The complainant went to the Kranti Chowk Police Station with her husband and lodged a case. PSI Pramod Khandare probe the case.
