Aurangabad, Jan 21:

State unit of Jamaat-e-Islami India (JIH) will launch a weeklong campaign ‘From darkness Towards Light’ from January 22. The drive's aim is to save our society from ignorance, hatred, bigotry and materialism and impart knowledge, wit, and spirituality to all.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the JIH office-bearers said that the Novel coronavirus opened the eyes of materialistic people.

They said that the circumstances caused an utter change in their beliefs and lifestyles. People learned that life is not about accumulating wealth or fulfilling material goals, but also empathy and passion.

The drive will be inaugurated at Tapadia Natyamandir at 6.30 pm on Friday.

JIH national vice-president Mohammed Salim will preside over the function. District collector Sunil Chavan, Islamic Scholar Maulana Kalim Siddiqui, Satyapal Maharaj, Nivrutti Maharaj Ghodke, Khadaksingh Granthi and Aman Kamble will be the chief guests for the event.

Engineer Wajed Quadri (City Organizer JIH Aurangabad, Dr Shadab Moosa, Dr Hasib Ahmed, Fahimunnisa (Organiser, Ladies Wing JIH city) and others were present at the briefing.
