Aurangabad, Jan 17:

The Jinsi police arrested a hardcore thief on police record Syed Sameer Syed Shaukat and a minor boy for stealing jewellery from the house of a doctor couple and seized the stolen eight tolas gold jewellery amounting Rs 4.47 lakh.

Dr Ayub Khan Dabir Khan (50, Indiranagar, Baijipura) had gone out of the station on December 24 to January 11 with his family. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the thieves broke into the house and stole the gold jewellery. On January 11, when he arrived in the city found that the door of the house was open and the lock was broken. When he checked the locker room found that 11 tolas of Gold was missing from the locker. He immediately lodged a complaint at the Jinsi police station. PI Vyankatesh Kendre, API Sainath Gite, PSI Datta Shelke, ASI Sampat Rathod and others started the investigation and found two thieves in the CCTV footage.

On suspicion, the police arrested Stylo alias Syed Sameer Syed Shaukat (23, Indiranagar, Baijipura) and a juvenile. Initially, they refused the theft but after strict interrogation, both of them confessed.

The court has remanded Sameer in the police custody till January 18. The police seized 8 tolas gold jewellery amounting Rs 4.47 lakh from Sameer.

Stylo alias Syed Sameer Syed Shaukat is a hardcore criminal, and several cases have been registered against him at Cidco, Jinsi, Osmanpura and other police stations. The police opined that some more cases will be solved with this arrest
