A joint land measurement drive for the proposed Aarapur MIDC will begin on May 6, with four teams comprising officials from MIDC, Revenue, Land Records and Agriculture departments, officials said.
The move follows rising demand for industrial plots in Waluj MIDC, where no land is currently available, forcing many entrepreneurs to buy private land outside the MIDC area without infrastructure support or government subsidies. To address this, the government has approved development of a 762-hectare MIDC across Gawli Shivar, Aarapur and Sultanabad villages near Waluj. A land acquisition notification was published last year. After a joint meeting with farmers and public representatives, it was decided that the survey would proceed without obstruction. On April 30, the District Collector directed that the survey start from May 6. MIDC regional officer Amit Bhamare said each team will include technical, revenue, land records and agriculture officials, with police support if required. Agriculture officials will assess trees, orchards and wells, while revenue officials will evaluate land, cattle sheds and farmhouses.
