Aurangabad, Dec 29:

Kanhaiyalal Motilal Runwal, the president of Shree Vardhman Shwetambar Sthanakwasi Dakshin Madhya Shravak Sangh and resident of Dashmeshnagar passed away on Tuesday.

He was 76 and leaves behind wife, a son (Manoj Runwal), two daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and four brothers. He was the elder brother of Ashok Runwal.

Kanhaiyalal Runwal has an immense social contribution. He was the former president of Shree Vardhman Shwetambar Sthanakwasi Jain Shravak Sangh and Dashmeshnagar Shivmandir Trust member. He also worked on State and national bodies.

Kanhaiyalal was a national level member of Shwetambar Jain Conference (New Delhi) and current State president of Akhil Bharatvarshiya Shramansanghiya Shravak Samiti.

He was known as a very prominent businessman in the city. Last rites were performed on his body at Pratapnagar crematorium on Tuesday night.

Commenting on this death, president of Sakal Jain Samaj (Aurangabad) Rajendra Darda said that Kanhaiyalal Runwal was popular in Jain Samaj for his amiable nature. “He was an orthodox leader of the community. His death has caused losses to Jain Samaj,” he added.
