The Kannada Municipal Council has introduced ICT-based monitoring to improve city sanitation. Mayor Fareen Begum Abdul Javed has prioritized cleanliness and water supply, with geo-tagging now tracking garbage collection.

Under the Maharashtra Golden Jubilee Urban Development Scheme, 4,594 of 8,468 properties have been tagged; the rest are expected by April. Over 11 trucks are monitored in real-time, and the dumping ground 5 km away is being better managed. Tracking shows which trucks cover which lanes and households, identifies high-waste areas or delays, and creates a digital database, enabling instant verification of citizen complaints ensuring transparent, efficient waste management.
