The Central Government team head and associate professor, department of Community and Family Medicine (Madhya Pradesh) Dr Abhijeet Pakhare stressed the need for proper treatment and vigil on the Covid-19 patients who are undergoing treatment under home isolation, apart from making adequate arrangements of treatment facilities, in the wake of Covid-19 in the district.
Pakhare was addressing a meeting organised at the district collectorate today to review the measures taken by the administration to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and measures to overcome the infection. The district collector Sunil Chavan, chief executive officer (Zilla Parishad) Dr Mangesh Gondavale, deputy director (health) Dr Swapnil Lale, resident deputy collector Sanjeev Jadhavwar, deputy collector Rita Metrewar, district health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke, district vaccination officer Dr Vijay Wagh, the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar, civil surgeon Dr Sunder Kulkarni and acting GMCH Dean Dr Varsha Rote were present in the meeting.
Pakhare underlined that it is mandatory for private hospitals to provide treatment to the patients as per the charges fixed by the government. There is a dire need to have control upon them (and charges) and it should be implemented religiously.
Chavan apprised him about the preventive measures being taken by the administration including testing percentage, testing of contact persons, managing containment zones etc. He mentioned that 26 containment zones had been demarcated in the city limits and 78 in the rural parts of the district. There is an arrangement of 20,000 beds with treatment facilities and adequate manpower had also been provided. The testing facility has been arranged at 104 centres and the vaccination is given through 133 centres.
Gondavale also briefed about the measures being taken by the Zilla Parishad in rural parts of the district. Dr Lale also informed about the lockdown on weekends, testing of traders, starting the 'Majhe Arogya Majhya Hati' app etc.
