The Champa Shashti Khandoba Yatra in Satara area here started today. The palanquin of Khandoba idol was taken out after Maha aarti at 7.30 am. The palanquin was kept in Dandekar house for the darshan of devotees throughout the day.

On Sunday, devotees took darshan following the rules of the Covid-19. The yatra started on Sunday as Martand Bhairavotthapan was taking place on Champa Shashti. On this occasion, priests Dilip Dhumal, Vijay Dhumal and Vishal Dhumal performed Laghurudra Abhishek at Khandoba temple at 12.30 am. At 6 am, an offering of 101 prasad was offered to Khandoba. Maha aarti was performed in the presence of 15 people at 7.15 am in the morning. A procession was also held at 8 pm and the idol was brought back to the temple. As Sunday was a holiday, the yatra was crowded with a large number of devotees. However, the fair has been cancelled due to Covid-19. However, following the rules, devotees were allowed to enter the Khandoba temple after the Maha Aarti. The three-day yatra will end on Tuesday. Devotees are urged to abide by the rules of corona appealed temple trustees.
