The proposed Khelo India Multipurpose Hall will significantly boost Olympic preparations for athletes from Maharashtra, union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse said on Saturday.

She was speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony at the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) National Centre of Excellence here, where advanced sports science equipment provided under ICICI Foundation’s CSR initiative was inaugurated. Khadse said the Khelo India programme is nurturing grassroots talent while building world-class sports infrastructure. CSR partnerships are providing athletes with modern training systems, scientific support and high-performance equipment, improving preparedness for national and international competitions. She highlighted the collaboration of government and private as an effective convergence of government initiatives and corporate participation, which will strengthen high-performance training and create greater opportunities for young athletes from the Marathwada region.
