Kohinoor Edn Society's president & secretary booked in fake degree case
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Mazhar Anwar Khan, the president of Khuldabad-based Kohinoor Education Society and his wife and secretary of the education society Asma Khan were booked with Tilaknagar Police Station in Bengaluru for preparing a fake degree and mark sheet of BHMS courses.
Senior Police Inspector Nirmala Pardeshi said that a team of Bengaluru Police with the help of City Chowk Police arrested Mazhar Khan on Tuesday in this case.
As per the complaint lodged by Registration of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Dr Riyaz Basha at Tilaknagar Police Station in Bengaluru, on August 7, 2024, Gade Orthopaedic Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar had sent Asman Khan's mark sheet for verification.
The university informed Gade Hospital on September 4, 2024, that this mark sheet did not match the university records. In addition, the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) also inquired from the university regarding the fake educational certificate. In this certificate, it was claimed the candidate studied at Dr B D Jatti Homeopathy College (Dharwad).
The university verified it and replied to the NCH on November 28, 2024. Accordingly, it was clarified that Asma Khan has not taken an admission in the university or college and that the university has not given her any degree or mark sheet.
Also, the BHMS degree and mark sheet of the university she has are fake. The complaint states that the university logo has also been misused in the fake documents. So, the university has also declared the use of that certificate for the medical profession illegal. A case of cheating, preparation of fake documents and illegal use of the university logo was registered against Asma Khan and Mazhar Khan at the police station.
