Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “Reading, comprehension, application, evaluation, and creativity are important steps for flawless writing. Language is neither correct nor incorrect,” said Dr Nagesh Ankush, a language expert.

He was speaking at the 'May Marathi Gaurav Mahotsav' organised jointly by the Marathi Language and Literature Department, the Student Development Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and the Divisional Commissioner's Office in the Marathi Department's hall on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, Dr Nagesh Ankush said that one cannot become a master of language merely by using it.

“Language is not correct or incorrect; it is either standard or dialectal. Writing the language neatly means writing correctly and preserving culture. Grammar conveys and regulates the tradition of words. Correct spelling should not remain a mere insistence but should become a habit,” he said.

Department Head Dasu Vaidya made an introductory address. Dr Rameshwar Wakankar conducted the proceedings of the first session, while Saniya Beg anchored the second session.
