Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Shinde faction suffered a major setback in the municipal corporation and Zilla Parishad elections. Despite having five MLAs, one MP, and one minister, the party’s decline in both rural and urban politics has deeply affected it. Against this backdrop, at a gathering of office-bearers and leaders from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Jalna districts, party leader and MP Shrikant Shinde reprimanded leaders and advised them to reduce their ego.

During the meeting, party office-bearers analysed the reasons for the defeat in the municipal and Zilla Parishad elections, detailing who did what. It was revealed how some individuals funded opponents to ensure certain candidates lost, how factionalism played a role, and how candidates were sidelined due to ego clashes. After hearing these points, Shinde stated that whatever he found to be true and accurate would be conveyed to deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde.

The meeting was held on Sunday afternoon at Surya Lawns on Beed Bypass. Those present included guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat, minister Gulabrao Patil, industries minister Uday Samant, MLAs Abdul Sattar, Sanjana Jadhav, Vilas Bhumare, along with deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal and Ramesh Pawar.

Both sides were heard

Speaking at a press conference before the meeting, Shrikant Shinde said that a special session of Parliament will begin from April 16. The Delimitation Bill and the Women’s Reservation Bill will be taken up for discussion, and their party will support both. He also expressed confidence that all parties in the Mahayuti would extend their support.

He added that there will be several challenges ahead, and efforts will be made to ensure justice for those working in various positions. Voter mapping is underway, and office-bearers have been instructed to ensure that no voter names are missing. The party has understood both sides regarding its performance in the local body elections. The focus now will be on strengthening the organisation. Reviewing the state-wide results, he claimed that the Shinde faction’s strike rate has been good. A constituency-wise review of Lok Sabha seats has been conducted, and the party will take appropriate decisions for necessary changes in the coming period.
