A leopard cub trapped in a farm well in Patharwala Budruk, Ambad tehsil, was safely rescued by the Forest Department on Sunday. For the first time in Marathwada, a thermal drone was used to locate and reunite the cub with its mother.

Assistant Conservator Sudam Munde and Range Officer Daund guided the ManwithIndiz Foundation team, assisted by forest guards B.M. Patil, Kadam, Ashish Joshi, Deepak Watne, and Chidambar Kale. After reconnaissance using thermal imaging, the mother leopard was located at night. At around 4 am on February 2, the cub was released near its mother, allowing both to return safely to their habitat. The operation was hailed as a model effort in wildlife conservation.
