International storyteller Lal Govind Prabhu said listening to the stories of Lord Shri Ram during Purushottam Maas makes human life meaningful and sacred. Devotees responded with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” during the opening day of the seven-day ‘Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Katha’ at the Iskon VECC temple premises on Friday.
A large number of devotees attended the spiritually charged event on the first day itself. During the discourse, Lal Govind Prabhu explained the divine reasons behind Lord Shri Ram’s incarnation and highlighted the significance of the four main ghats in Ramcharitmanas Gyan Ghat, Bhakti Ghat, Karma Ghat and Sharanagati Ghat. A musical presentation of the Shiva-Parvati dialogue added to the devotional atmosphere. On Saturday, May 16, the birth celebration of Lord Shri Ram will be observed, along with narrations of his childhood episodes and the Ahalya redemption story. The discourse will be held daily from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm.The Shri Ram Katha Seva Committee said special bus services have been arranged from different parts of the city for devotees.
