Local administration takes action against 26 shops; collects fine of Rs 1.25 lakh

Aurangabad, May 21:

To discuss the shops and establishments violating the prohibitory orders and lockdown norms in the district, the collector Sunil Chavan and the commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta today had a meeting at 9 am. The meeting was also attended by the officers from the office of the deputy commissioner (labour), the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), and the district collectorate. They ordered to form flying squads to take immediate action against the violators.

After concluding the meeting, the two officials paid surprise visits to different areas like Shahgunj, Kirdapura, Jalna Road, Cidco, etc, and took stern action against the shops found violating the norms and orders which are into effect in the district. Of the 26 shops, a fine of Rs 1.25 lakh was collected from 16 shops today.

The flying squad took action against the gift and toys shops, jewelry shops, electrical shops, cloth stores, photo labs, stationery shops, xerox centres, milk centres, bakery and confectionery shops, fruit shops, eateries and food joints, multi-services agencies, chemists shops, etc. These shops are situated on Jalna Road, Nirala Bazaar, Nageshwarwadi, Mukundwadi Road, T V Centre, Kiradpura, Cidco, and Cannaught Place. The police and revenue officials were also active in Bajajnagar.
