A 63-year-old woman was assaulted and injured in a dispute over tree branches dumped outside her house at Shantinath Housing Society, Gadiyavihar, around 3.30 pm on Tuesday.

Jawaharnagar police have registered a case against her neighbour, Kapil Rathod (40). According to the complaint by Lata Rajput, the accused had been repeatedly abusing and threatening her. After society workers dumped cut branches outside her house, she asked secretary Dilip Patil to have them removed. Enraged, Rathod abused her, kicked the compound gate, forcibly entered the house, twisted her arm, slapped her, and threatened to kill her. Society members Dilip Patil and Dhananjay Mule intervened, and the injured woman was later taken to hospital for treatment.
