A dispute over sharing stolen valuables exposed a gang behind a high-value robbery in the city. Crime Branch arrested Kartik Jadhav (19, Mukundnagar, Mukundwadi) and detained a minor accomplice in connection with the robbery of expensive photography equipment.
On May 1 around 7 pm, photographer Chetan Jaiswal (19, Rahul Nagar) was returning from a wedding assignment when three men threatened him with a knife near Gandheli Phata on Beed Bypass and fled with cameras, flat lights, and memory cards worth lakhs. Notably, the robbery occurred at the same spot where a lawyer was murdered a month earlier.

Dispute over share led police to accused
During investigation led by Senior PI Gajanan Kalyankar and PSI Jagannath Mendkudale, police learned that gang leader Shankar Shelar had kept the expensive cameras and paid Kartik and the minor just Rs 2,000 each sparking a dispute. Constable Deepak Shinde received a tip about the quarrel, leading to the minor's detention and Kartik's arrest. Stolen property was recovered. Shelar remains absconding.

Knife-point mobile robbery accused arrested
In a separate case, delivery worker Nandkishor Kunjar (47, Naregaon) was robbed of his mobile phone at knifepoint around 2 am on May 8. Using technical investigation, a team led by PSI Arjun Kadam arrested notorious criminal Mukesh alias Mukya Salve (26, Mukundwadi) a repeat offender with over 12 serious cases. He had been released on bail in an attempt-to-murder case in the last week of April before allegedly committing the robbery.
