Boys and girls perform on stage, demonstrating their artistic skills
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Lokmat Times Campus Club (LTCC) Summer Camp concluded successfully, leaving parents impressed by the skills and talents their children showcased. Held from May 5 to 12 at Lokmat Bhavan hall, the camp featured a variety of activities that allowed children to develop and display their latent abilities under expert guidance.
The concluding ceremony saw boys and girls performing on stage, demonstrating their artistic skills to an audience of proud parents. The performances elicited applause and pride, with many parents expressing a newfound appreciation for their children's potential. "Our child is one hundred percent talented," one parent remarked, reflecting a sentiment shared by many. They also vowed to enhance communication between themselves and their children, as well as among parents and friends.
The camp was divided into two groups: one for children in first to fifth grade, and another for those in sixth to tenth grade. Over the eight-day period, campers received training in communication skills, robotics, dance, arts and crafts, and abacus. The activities were designed to be engaging and educational, presented in a simple, playful manner that captured the children's interest. This approach led to enthusiastic participation, with children arriving early and staying late each day.
Due to the programme the children developed a newfound interest in subjects like robotics, handicrafts, and abacus. The abacus sessions, in particular, helped demystify mathematics for many students, reducing their fear of the subject. Some expressed a desire to continue learning abacus, while others noted improvements in their public speaking skills, boosting their confidence. Parents were so impressed with the camp's success that they requested similar programmes be held during Diwali and summer vacations in the future.
Guidance of experts
The camp's success can be attributed to the expert guidance provided by various instructors. Dr SR Makanikar taught communication skills, Malhar Ashtaputre from Srividya Robotics sparked an interest in robotics, and Ayodhya Puri conducted art, handicraft, and dance demonstrations. Arti Nayak provided painting and sports tips, while Rekha Sonawane from Super Abacus helped reduce the fear of mathematics through abacus training.
