Aurangabad, Oct 16:

Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comprises Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance. However, Sena and NCP got alerted after Congress leader, and Aurangabad''s contact minister Amit Deshmukh hinted at contesting the forthcoming Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections on its strength yesterday. Hence, Sena and NCP, both expressed that they are also ready to lock horns in the civic elections.

Meanwhile, the local Sena and NCP leaders termed that the statement of the minister was to motivate the local office-bearers and the activists and their party''s senior leaders will take the final decision on alliance in local elections.

The last civic body comprised 115 corporators, out of which, Congress and NCP alliance were having 10-12 corporators, AIMIM had 26 corporators and the remaining seats were in the kitty of Sena-BJP alliance. Presently, there is uncertainty over the AMC elections. The state election commission would announce the polls after the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Despite knowing the fact, Sena and Congress seem to have geared up to motivate activists in their ways. MVA''s motto is to stand firm opposite BJP. Hence time will say whether the alliance will work accordingly or not?.

Shiv Sena district chief, MLC Ambadas Danve said, " The statement of Congress''s contact minister has been made to develop enthusiasm and motivate local office-bearers and activists. Our senior leaders will decide on the alliance. Meanwhile, the preparation of Sena is also underway by way of conducting ward wise meetings with full capacity in all 115 wards."

NCP city president Vijayraj Salve, " If Congress has taken a stand, we extend greetings to it. Our senior leaders will then decide on the alliance. Meanwhile, we also are conducting meetings to review the situation in all 115 wards."
