Aurangabad, FEB 18: The Jalna sleuths of anti-corruption bureau caught red-handed the driver of the Majalgaon sub-divisional officer while accepting a bribe of Rs 65,000 in Sambhaji Chowk area of Majalgaon on Thursday evening.
SDO Shrikant Gaikwad demanded the bribe from the complainant for allowing him to continue lifting sand illegally. Despite agreeing to pay the bribe, Gaikwad seized sand-laden trucks. The complainant then approached the Jalna anti-corruption bureau.
The Jalna ACB caught Kale (full name not known), the driver of Majalgaon SDO Gaikwad, while accepting the bribe of Rs 65,000.
After arresting Kale, the Jalna ACB took into custody Gaikwad from his residence. It was also proved that Gaikwad demanded bribe.
