On the occasion of the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, large-scale celebrations are being held across the city. Accordingly, significant route diversions have been implemented on April 13 and 14.
Devotees visit the statue of B. R. Ambedkar at Bhadkal Gate from the night of April 13 and throughout April 14 to pay their respects. In addition, rallies and processions are organised in the same area. Considering this, changes in traffic routes have been made, informed assistant commissioner of police (Traffic) Subhash Bhujang through an official release. These restrictions will not apply to police, fire brigade, ambulances, and other emergency service vehicles.
Traffic diversions on April 13
On Monday, April 13, from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight, traffic on the Mill Corner to City Club route will remain closed.
— Vehicles coming from the Jalgaon side will be diverted via Harsul T-point – Jalgaon T-point – Jalna Road – Amarpreet Chowk – Mahavir Chowk.
— Vehicles from Delhi Gate will proceed via City Club – Municipal Corporation Office – Town Hall flyover (underpass) – Makai Gate – Begumpura – University route.
— Alternatively, vehicles from Delhi Gate can also take the route via City Club – Municipal Office – Girls’ ITI – Khadkeshwar.
—- Vehicles from the Central Bus Stand will move via Mill Corner – Kartiki Chowk – Mahavir Chowk – Sessions Court – Kranti Chowk – Akashvani – Jalgaon T-point.
Traffic Diversions on April 14
On Tuesday, April 14, from 10:00 am to 12:00 midnight, the following routes will remain completely closed:
1. Mahavir Chowk to Amarpreet Chowk
2. Gopal T-point – Kranti Chowk – Sillekhana – Paithan Gate – Bara bhai Tajiya – Gulmandi – Supari Hanuman Temple – City Chowk – Old Bazaar – Main Post Office – Bhadkal Gate
3.Shahaganj – Gandhi Statue – Sarafa – City Chowk
4.Aurangpura Police Chowki to Bara bhai Tajiya
5. Mill Corner to City Club
Additionally, traffic on the procession routes N-12 Nursery, Godavari Public School, TV Centre, N-9, Ayodhya Nagar, Shivneri Colony, N-7 Shopping Centre will be diverted to one-way routes until the procession concludes.
