Aurangabad, May 8:
The Waluj MIDC police arrested a man who abducted a 15 years old minor girl from Jogeshwari area five months back from Latur district’s Shivli village and rescued the girl.
According to the details, accused Maruti Sahebrao Chunwade (28, Nanded) abducted a 15 years old minor girl on the pretext of marriage on December 7. Her parents lodged a complaint in this regard and suspected that Maruti Chunwade eloped her. Under the guidance of PI Madhukar Sawant, PSI Prashant Gambhirrao started the search. They had switched off their mobile phone and frequently changed their whereabouts.
Maruti Chunwade after abducting the girl had kept her at a farm house at Shivli village in Latur district. He was in the contact of his relatives after changing his sim card. The police received the information about it, and arrested the accused by laying a trap on Friday. Chunwade was produced before the court on Saturday and he was remanded in the police custody till Tuesday.
