A young man has been booked at Waluj Police Station for persistently harassing a 21-year-old woman, forcing her into marriage, and assaulting her when she refused to talk to him.

According to the complaint, the accused, Narayan Changhate, had been stalking and harassing the woman (name changed) for the past year, repeatedly pressuring her to marry him. When she rejected his advances, he resorted to verbal abuse and physical assault. On March 1 at 9 am, taking advantage of the fact that the woman was alone at home, Narayan barged into her house and confronted her, asking, “Why don’t you talk to me?” He then grabbed her hand, verbally abused her, and assaulted her. At that moment, her mother arrived home and attempted to intervene, but an angry Narayan assaulted and abused her as well. The woman lodged a complaint at Waluj Police Station, following which the police registered a case against Narayan Changhate and initiated further investigation.
