A young man hanged himself from a tree in an open space in front of a hotel on the bypass while on a video call with his wife. The incident came to light at around 5 pm on Saturday. Chikhalthana police have registered a case.
The deceased has been identified as Yogesh Solunke (34, Arunodaya Colony) and originally from Jalna. According to Chikhalthana police, Yogesh was in an open space in front of Hotel Table 9 on Beed Bypass, speaking to his wife on a video call, when he hanged himself from a tree. Passersby noticed the young man hanging from the tree and a crowd gathered. Chikhalthana police rushed to the spot and took him to Mini Ghati Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Yogesh lived with his mother, wife and brother. He was a government electrical contractor. Police are investigating the cause of his suicide.
