Reunited with family after sending friend request to younger brother

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In a heartwarming development, a man who went missing from Jawaharnagar 21 years ago was reunited with his family after sending a Facebook friend request to his younger brother.

As per information, Shirish alias Sajan Yashwant Bansod (42) reportedly left his home after an argument in 2003 and never returned. Despite a missing persons report filed at Jawaharnagar police station, the lack of leads and technological resources at the time hampered the investigation. The case was eventually closed, leaving the family with dwindling hope.

However, recently Shirish sent a friend request to his younger brother on Facebook. The brother, initially accepting the request, became suspicious when Shirish quickly withdrew it. Determined to find the source of the request, he approached the Jawaharnagar police station.

The case was then transferred to cyber police. Inspector Gajanan Kalyankar of the cyber police station promptly launched an investigation, tracing Shirish's location to Kalyan, Mumbai, through his IP address. The family then traveled to Mumbai, where they were finally reunited with Shirish after 21 long years.

The emotional reunion brought tears to the eyes of their 75-year-old bedridden father. Shirish has two younger brothers, and was working in a transport company in Kalyan. The family expressed their gratitude to both the Jawaharnagar police and the cyber police for their efforts in facilitating this incredible homecoming.
