Chhatrapati Sambhajinjagar: In a shocking incident, a man murdered his aged uncle at Kanchannagar in the greed of grabbing his property.

The deceased has been identified as Prabhakar Pralhad Naik (86, Kanchannagar). Police Inspector of Satara Police Station Sangram Tathe said that the accused Sachin Sudhakar Joshi (Chelipura) was arrested in this case.

Prabhakar Naik, who retired from government service, lived in Kanchannagar with his unmarried daughter Sulakshana. His wife had died six years ago. For the past few months, his nephew Sachin had been demanding possession of his house.

Sachin who was unemployed went to his house on March 24. He demanded the rent of this house from Sulakhsana and asked to leave the house if not. He also started beating Sulakshana. Prabhakar ran to save the girl. Then, Sachin picked up a stone from outside the house and hit the uncle in the head.

Prabhakar was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, he was discharged on March 25.

His condition deteriorated again five days ago and he was admitted to the GMCH again. He died on Sunday evening while undergoing the treatment.
