Mangalsutra of two women stolen

Aurangabad, July 20:

The mangalsutra of two women who had come for taking darshan at Vitthal temple in Pandharpur (Waluj) were stolen. The incident took place at 10.30 am on Tuesday. A case has been registered against unidentified thieves.

According to information, Sagunabai Kaduba Pandhare (60, Kerhala, Sillod) had come to Vitthal temple in Pandharpur along with her husband Kaduba Pandhare. As the temple was closed, Sagunabai was taking darshan throughout the closed gates. Meanwhile, an unidentified woman who was wearing a yellow saree stole a gold chain and mangalsutra from Sagunabai. After a while, Sagunabai cried for help as she realised that her jewellery was stolen. The nearby policemen immediately searched the premises, however they were not able to find the thief. In another incident, a mangalsutra of Archana Patil (Bajajnagar) was snatched from the temple premises by a thief. Despite her raising an alarm, the thief was able to run away in the crowd. A case has been registered in Waluj police station and PSI Sachin Pagote is further investigating the case.
